Well technically the eleven Dixie states were Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. At the start of the war Kentucky sought to remain neutral; in September 1861 Confederate troops invaded Kentucky, leading to Kentuckians enlisting overwhelmingly in the Union cause. The list larry gives below seems reasonable for DixieLUG; though I would definitely include both Arkansas and Kentucky in 'The South'.
