* Robin built a structure worthy of front box freestyle promotion.

Ha ha!!  I like your style, Xandria.  Always trying to find the
positive, to build up.  But I have to set the record straight here.
The "thing" that I built just plain didn't work.  I had it pictured in
my head, and just couldn't get it out.  Perhaps what Xandria should
have said is "Robin built a ... er ... structure that took us all back
to what we were putting together at the tender age of 5".

Heh. I know the feeling; There have been many times when I thought I worked
out something in my head but when I got to build it, I end up with "Darn, I
didn't realize that part would be in the way". That's why I just furrow my
eyebrows when I see people like Dean and co. working on Technic... it's just
beyond me.

* Xandria created a little water palace for a Belleville figure she has
dubbed "water nymph".

This creation, OTOH, was a true thing of beauty.  Excellent use of
colour, minimalistic, yet with lots of interesting "bits" to hold the
interest of the appreciative viewer.  Top notch, Xandria!
Yup, loved the blue colour scheme... very artistic.

And Mark aka Optimus Prime performed another drive by, gracing us with his
F-14, minus the parts his cats absconded with.

Actually, to be precise, an F-15 Eagle, and it should be mentioned
that it was approximately UCS scale!!!  That's "Ultimate Collector
Series" scale, which would put the plane at about 2 1/2 to 3 feet
long.  It was all white (well, yellow, as it was built in '89), with
working landing gear and under wing stores.  Extremely cool.

Wow, that's very observant... I wasn't there more than 20 minutes but you got
all that right. For the record, though, Xandria is partially correct because I
actually started it as a Model Team scale F-14 but decided I couldn't do the
swing wings justice in the thickness I had to work with, so although it is my
Rendition of an F-15 there are F-14 holdovers (the nose gear has 2 wheels like
an f-14's instead of the F-15's single wheel... that's because the model was
so heavy it snapped the poor single wheel I had there originally) and the
vents above the air intakes are actually on F-14's only, but I thought they
looked neat.

And yes, at 98 studs long it's about 31 inches long, good eyeball estimate!
(What, do you survey property for a living?). Hey, it was sorta white. Ish. (I
need more white plates... as you can guess, that pretty much sucked all the
white plates/low slopes out of my collection).

Mark also brought another semi truck tractor, a la Black Cat.  Working
steering, opening doors, cabinets, tool storage, etc.  A true mico
engineering feat!
Thanks! I actually only brought that to show people what I was up to (another
truck to keep Optimus company) and hope that somebody had the parts I needed
for trade. Ok, and to show minifig steering =) Oh, and yes, it is a mini
rendition of the Black Cat, although it's a bit hard to tell as it was
unfinished and had white patches on it (I may have to commit the ultimate
sacrifice and slice off the flanges from a couple of red curve-over pieces...
d'oh)

David's ghost ship is beginning to shape up.  We'll have to take pics once
it's complete.  But it's awesome so far.

Don't forget David's latest catapult.  They're getting better all the
time.
Being there 20 minutes I really missed a lot, didn't I? D'oh again.

I really liked having the pool of club lego.  It was great fun just
sitting and building together, pawing through the same great pile of
pieces.
Like THAT for instance.

And believe it or not, I've not yet gotten a chance to see any of Kevin's
assmbled kits yet.

Mark

p.s. Dave H? I hope you bring your 5571 Black Cat again... my miniature one
will be finished by next time, I swear. Btw, I wasn't even planning to do a
Black Cat Rig just yet till I saw an actual built one, then I had to do it
ASAP. I hope he doesn't bring anything else huge and cool that might cause me
to go off on another tangent ;)
