I have a flood story of my own.
When I went to college, I lived in my dad's old motor home, at a campground.
Not much room, but it was cheap.
One weekend during the winter, I came back from my girlfriend's house, and when
I stepped in the carpet went "squish".
I checked the sink. No water. ?!
Seems the water had been turned off outside.
Later, I found out one of my neighbors came over and turned off my water, when
he saw it coming out the floor of the motorhome, after one of the pipes had
frozen and burst.
The whole carpet was drenched. Some clothes (that I had piled on the floor)
were quite wet.
I don't think I slep in there after that. I spent more time with my girlfriend
(now my wife).
Overall, it was bad, but not even close to what you went (are going) through.
I feel for you.
