Well after much sawing, cutting, grinding and gluing, and most of the with Photoshop. :-) I've got a working 45 degree crossing. (URL) not pretty. I love the part. I can see it as a nice solution to make a double-crossover. (4 switches with the 45 Degree Crossing in the middle) - That way I won't have to cut expensive switches - its a small solution for a double-crossover. Do you think it will (...) (...) Not bad for a first attempt! I do have one little quibble though - it really needs some guard rail sections opposite each frog. If you look at the LEGO points (switches) you'll see what I mean. There are definitely improvements that need to be made. As it is right now this cross over is very hard on train wheels.
