    Should I upgrade to RIS 2.0? —Rob Antonishen
   Still haven't opened my RIS 1.5 (hey, I'm planning a move so I'm kinda busy right now...why else would I be posting at midnight?) big question...should I stick with the 1.5 firmware and RIS software (to start and for my 8 year old kid) or should I (...) I guess i never point out that upgrading firmware only ADD's functionality. the standard firmware wont let you play with the LCD display (i think) but as firmware gets upgraded, functionality expands.    So the 1.5 Mindstorm PC based programming software (does it have a real name, to minimize confusion?) that uses the drag and drop based GUI should work fine with the 2.0 firmware. (...) clearly you just need to be told what to do. so, lets try again. 1. get the latest SDK from lego (see other posts) 2. instal it in the brick. 3. use the original lego windows GUI for your son to program bots, 4.
