Here I was last night, surrounded by my boxes upon boxes of LEGO bricks, had
a few 1x16 yellow beams (worthless but for smash-em sock'em 1) in my hand,
and I just sat there.

Now I'm sounding like Iain--can't build anything good

OK, good; I'm not the only one who was sitting starring at the lego.

best I have come up with is a (censored -- Eyes Only ) weapon, and I *gasp* opened
up the 8475  instructions book to see how lego attaches the stock motors.

Ugh.  I might just show up with a robot that i know will get torn to bits.....

any idea why we are all going through the Blah's??

First Iain, Dave..... and sometimes, me.

do we need more interesting games?  are we having TOO many things?  should we just
retire  and just go buy star wars sets and make OEM models.

(shudder)

i think we all need more fiber in our diets.

I haven't given up hope yet--THe last 'bot competition, my 'bot wasn't
working at all, even during my first 'bout in the arena, and yet somehow it
came together after that...

So I'll get home tonite, with my blase mood in tow, sit my heinie amongst
all that LEGO, and just start fiddling...

Yeah, I dislike completely the mounting points of the motors and the control
box--is bad enuf that they're studless, but that the connecting hole
brackets are like all on odd numbers--drives me crazy when I use old
fashioned beam and 2 plate building methods.

But I have lotsa yellow waiting to get smacked.

As for 'King of the hill', this is going to sound crazy from me...

Whatever train thing we have going on I think will have to wait until after
the march break--I dislike distributing my LEGO time bwtween 3 'immediate'
things.

But that's just my vote--after the march competition we'll have alotta time
until July to get the NMRA stuff tweaked--and I can get the modules
built--no time for woodworking b/w now and the March break :(
