I built an impromptu car for it at our get-together in August.

I went with an 8x24  *baseplate* as the bottom of the car; I was able to
reinforce it with a technic beam along either edge.  It rested on the
tracks - gave a slightly bumpy view of the world on switches, etc, but
it worked fine if you don't mind cleaning tracks with your baseplate.

I'll bring the sacrificial baseplate if you like.

Bring *lots* of rubber bands; you can stabilize the camera, *and*
provide a shock-absorbing, non-marring cushion for the camera.  Calum
doesn't like his precious scratched by nasty ABS brickses, gollum.

Placing the camera within a plate thickness of the track worked wonders.

Hey Calum... Is your camera going to be making its first track run?

Let's see:

-I've been in Montreal for the last four days.
-Away from Lego.
-I have a train station to finish
-And a second module of track alone
-And a train

Someone build a safe Elura40MC mount.

Gimmee some specs and I'll see what I can whip up tonite!

It's got to be low to the track (ie, lower than the club car train plate)
AND leave the camera under 15 bricks.  Also, has to be only at most 8 wide.

Note the viewfinder sticks up a bit.  This is very hard without the actual
camera in your posession...
