My "Legends" building spree —Jeff Elliott
Like Dave and Derek, I got my yellow-labelled box of happiness in the mail recently. Among other things, it contained my first Club Car and my first Metroliner. I built the club car Tuesday night, and the Metroliner last night. On Tuesday, I also (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: My "Legends" building spree —Calum Tsang
(...) I've never really liked the My Own Train cars. They're far too American for my tastes (even if the Metroliner seems to have an Amtrak livery, it still has a very European style to it), the sets themselves have a lot of repetitive elements (14 (...)          Re: My "Legends" building spree —James Powell
(...) My fav. of the currently available sets is the sleeper from the Santa Fe sets. It combines a LOT of ideas to make a very nice single level car. Oh, Calum, my dad said to say hi-(Dave Powell, TSME's "Presenter"). James P. (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: My "Legends" building spree —Larry Pieniazek
(...) That's really weird! A lot of US proto modelers find them rather more european than they care for. Must be they're actually somewhere in the middle, in the zone where they don't look 100% right to either camp. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

(...) Larry - we said the same about the engines when they came out. I think TLC have aimed for the middle-ground and missed! Let's face it, no-one's going to own up to having these engines in their country. They're pretty good sets, nevertheless. I (...)          Re: My "Legends" building spree —Jason J. Railton
(...) Just to prolong the issue for no good reason (apart from perhaps stopping newbies asking the same question again ;-) my Dad reckons that the MOT train set/bundle from Shop@Home looks like the sort of thing you get chugging around Africa. So, (...) (22 years ago, 21-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

Re: My "Legends" building spree —Frank Filz
(...) Yea, they do bear some resemblance to a Beyer-Garrat, but if we look for weird things they might look like, they actually look most like a Shay, Heisler, or Climax (or a few other less well known geared locomotives). Of course without the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: My "Legends" building spree —Benjamin Medinets
(...) So, naturally, I was prompted to compare the MOT green Passenger Wagon (...) I know this is a bit late, but how was your building experience with the Metroliner? Were there any problems with it, besides the incorrect blue windows? I spent the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
