I'm finding that out, too! I've decided to have a go. I've got the concept
completly developed and proven (tiny model) and I've begun working on the
actual beast now. My problem currently is that I get so far, and then decide
to tear appart the mechanism because I can see a better way of doing it.
I was talking to a co worker today (who came to the Sumo competition in
Guelph, and I think I've convinced him to come this time, too!) and he
suggested I try a giant wheel with several claws on it, that would
latch/delatch from the bottoms of the rungs at the appropriate time.
I thought that sounded like the most technically elegant solution; but
requires massive repeat parts - something I don't have!
