Canada Lego Fest ideas —Benjamin Medinets
What sort of events would take place at a major lego get-together. Those of us (I'm slightly speaking for the group) in Toronto, think there would have to be some sort of major Robotics competition, AND large-scale Train Event/Show. I'm pretty sure (...)      (...) What to do doesn't worry me, that'll fall into place easily. What worries me is the organization, planning and operation of a large scale event. Some questions that immediately come to mind include: a) How many people we expect. BrickFest 2001 (...)          Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas —Adam Murtha
I've expanded this thread into local.canada in hopes of more Canadians to voice their opinion. Toronto (or anywhere else in Ontario actually) is quite the distance from Calgary, where I am. It is about 2700 km from Calgary to Toronto, which is a (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.monlug, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas —Eric DeGiuli
Some thoughts: -on location: would it be cheaper to host in in a suburb or smaller city outside of Toronto? ie Mississauga, Oakville, or the other way, Oshawa, ? Perhaps even up in North York at York University.. -hotels: Niagara Falls is full of (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.monlug, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

(...) York...working on it! (...) ~Copy and adapt Brickfests' plan to ours~ Honestly, we should take a -GOOD LOOK- at what the Americans did.      (...) 'Central' no, but if your looking’ for the best area with the most per-capita AFOL then Toronto would be the choice. Honestly, if a Calgury group was active and capable enough to hold the event I'd support it 100%. But something of this size (...)         Re: Canada Lego Fest ideas (Brick-North) —Richard Noeckel
Oh man… Looks like I'm gonna have to do some more leg work. Since York is my University, I'll look for possible halls to stage a large event. For both an rtlToronto gathering, and a possible “(Brick-North)” (kinda like Great White North) In (...)
