On one hand, I think using the soccer/basketballs would be really cool. It
opens up different EOAT possibilities: you could use a pick-and-place mechanism
with a gripper, or simply a magazine.
However cool Iain's mechanism is, I seriously doubt that everyone would use it -
I know I wouldn't....
Using the balls, and a small TTT field would make for cool, compact robots -
which I think would encourage creativity and a variety of mechanisms.
I like Chris' suction pump - just stop the damn squeaking!!!!! PLEASE!!! :)
On the other hand, the challenge of handling large flat Xs and Os (say 4x4x1
thick, or 6x6x1 thick) would also be cool. But due to the size of the board and
pieces, I think we'd see lots of behemoths awkwardly and slowly moving around
the board.
Why assume a magazine though?
