In another thread Derek implied that if we used the soccer balls that
Steve has distributed to the Lego community, then robots built for r22
and a Tic Tac Toe game would only have one solution.

I said that I was working on some other way to handle the balls, and
this is what I have come up with:

It would seem, that one can use a VERY old Lego pneumatic part to
maintain a vacuum, and use an old Lego suction cup from some space set,
to make a Lego ball sucker.
If you put it all together, you get what you see in the video. Dave did
this first a few years ago. I thought I would play around with the balls
to try it. To my surprise, and as you can see in the video, it is great
to pick up a soccer ball. If you try to pick up a basket ball, the
device cant. I think it has to do with the deeper groves in the basket
ball breaking the vacuum of the pump.

Watching this, gave me an idea, (totally unrelated to "tic tac toe")... but remember when we were at the hobby show, and you and I saw those plastic toys where the animal with a magnet goes down (via (...)
