Well this is why you need to back up those "pictures" (like, trip photos and
Lego, right?)? Someone, somewhere, statistically, will have their hard disk
crash. You may be that person. Period.
In fact, the Mac is even nicer because he gets a warning due to the Mac properly
implementing the IDE SMART protocol. I don't think XP does this natively, only
the PC BIOS.
This all said, I think hard disks are getting less and less reliable any day.
That and you fit this thing in a small enclosed overly hot machine like an
iMac...
