G'Day
I think part of it is not to take anyone or anything too seriously, ( i mean
who actually listens to Chris?) (1)(2)
And, yeah, when we meet good natured insults, jabs and smack gets hurled
back an forth, but i do not think any one (in our group at least) pays it to
much attention, but instead just throws it back.(3)
Cheers
Oliver
Play Well
1. i mean aside from Chris
2. we are after all talking about a kids toy.
3. plus when you meet in person you can the big grin on someone's face when
the smack is delivered, as opposed to just text where things said in jest
can be taken the wrong way. Or if something is taken the wrong way, it can
be cleared up quickly when talking face to face, rather than be email, where
words tend to fester and people stew over thme a much longer time.

I'm just a newbie -- only been in the AFOL community for about a year --
but it
seems like every time I turn around, somebody in the .rltoronto group is
doing
something cool.  I feel like half the posts on LUGNET are coming out of
Toronto
-- the interesting ones, anyway.

So what's your secret?  How'd you get such an active, friendly group?  Is
it
something to do with the weather?  (I'm in Chicago at the moment, which
isn't
THAT different from Toronto...)

If somebody wanted to follow your example and build up a similarly large
and
amicable group of AFOLs elsewhere, what advice would you give them?

Thanks,
- Joe
