rtlToronto8 and light sensors —Calum Tsang
Hey folks, First, as a rough count, how many folks are coming to rtlToronto8 (June 9th, Saturday) with a robot for competition? And how many are coming to watch? Then, how many people are using single RCX vs multi RCX? Single unit vs multiple units? (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Mine is 75% complete. It should join the competition if it doesn't jam all the time. (...) 1 RCX & 1 light sensor. (...) I use the same angled sensor method. Once my bot see a block it stop and eat the block so that's not an issue for me. (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtlToronto8 and light sensors —David Koudys
(...) Unfortunately I can't make it. Someone got me hooked on trains so I ripped my 'bot apart to build bridges and gantrys and stuff for the next train show. Yeah, whatever! Runamok 3 has 1 rcx for controlling it, 2 battery boxes for perma-on (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) YOU dirty RAT!!!!!!! I read your name to see who posted, then I read your FIRST line. THEN I panicked, THEN I re-read you name to make sure it was YOU who said he could not make it.         Re: rtlToronto8 and light sensors —Chris Magno
(...) ALL I can say on this subject is that -Whatever I bring, has sucked up ALL the light sensors I own.- BUT if you need more sensors, all you have to do is this: CALL 905-841-0600 and ask for Customer Service then tell Angela you want 1 or 2 of (...)         Re: rtlToronto8 and light sensors —Rob Stehlik
(...) I should be able to bring a robot, but mine isn't coming together as nicely as I would like. I have a really slick three wheel driving base built, but the gathering/sorting mechanism has been tough to build. My original idea resulted in about (...)          Re: rtlToronto8 and light sensors —Victor Rehorst
(...) Hrm, maybe I should think about a movement algorithm more complex than "drive around randomly" :) (...) Sounds like some people are picking up blocks, and some people are just pushing around blocks instead. VJR (URL) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtlToronto8 and light sensors —Calum Tsang
(...) Something based around at what point of the game you're in (ie, defensive vs offensive) and game state where blocks might be. (...) I'm gonna run a few tests with block detection at that level. Right after I stop splitting 1x2s with too much (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I'll be there, if I get the chance to build a robot it will also be single rcx, single light sensor. Jeff VW (23 years ago, 30-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
