<warning type="lego-mod" sensitive="purists"> You can use the big cylinders as compressors. Just carefully unwind the spring from the shaft - you can do it without damaging the spring if you're careful. Store the spring for reapplication later. I've (...)   Re: steering at Rtl 8

(...) As soon as I get my hands on those large technic turntables, I'm building that mobile platform, whatever it's called, the one where the tires turn but the robot stays facing the same direction... there's a link somewhere.. i'll have to dig it (...) (...) K, this is way too weird--I thought I was the only West Wing fan in Canada. It is by far the best show on tv this season. I am so busy with LEGO, Everquest, and work (work being, of course, last and only there so I acn buy LEGO and subscribe (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: steering at Rtl 8

(...) The show is okay, it's pretty fun if you tape it and fast forward only to the robots. It's not worth setting the timer for (unlike West Wing or a new Scrapheap Challenge UK, or Survivor (due to peer pressure)) but still reasonable if you're (...)   new customizable train sets....

Now that they are out...what do you guys think of them...$30 US for the kit, plus you got to add motor, lights (if you desire), other options can bring train engines very high costs....sure it might be fun and look nice but that is a lot of money (...)   Re: steering at Rtl 8

(...) There was an entrant on TLC Robotica that used a rotating shaft of wheels almost like a Killough (Iain!) platform. It was called Hot Wheels and was done by designers at Mattel: (URL) no good photos of the mechanism, but basically the (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Dinner Reschedule to Friday May 18th? Okay?

Hi folks, I was wondering if we could schedule the May dinner to one week later, May 18th. Now I know Thursday May 3rd was bad (because people need to work on Friday) but I really wanted to be at a meeting before the train1 event for planning. (...)   steering at Rtl 8

Hi everyone, Just had an idea about the robots at Rtl 8. I really want to see something other than A B skid steering. Sure its simple, but it makes for a choppy 'etch a sketch' look to the robot when its driving. I don't know if this is intended to (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: again...

(...) This has been my holy grail. The manual pumps put out more volume of air per stroke then the little ones. The bad side is that because air compresses so easily, the first 3/4 of the stroke is not very effective, yet is the easiest part of the (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
