Re: New ViperSE begins testing at Ventax (Video link)

(...) What's amazing IIRC about the Viper and ViperSE is that the idea was originally pitched by Iain to his boss with a Lego model. Isn't that cool? Calum PS-cooler than a $104 track cleaner. (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: New ViperSE begins testing at Ventax (Video link)

Iain... I down loaded the "raw" footage, and... and... holy ca ca! Its cool to see what you do with Lego, but to see this and know you were a MAJOR influence in its design and fruition.... WOW! :) man, your so cool. no go and build me a lego axle (...) (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

New ViperSE begins testing at Ventax (Video link)

Friday, we fired up the newest Viper to be built at Ventax. This will be the fastest one yet. The tipspeed as it passes through its centrepoint, once we get it up to 100%, will be appr. 117 km/h. Right now in these videos, which I shot today, it is (...) (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Bricks in Rice

I am fine with the bare 2x4 bricks. I've put some in a tub of rice, and my preliminary "devices" (the right word escapes me just now -- laughable attempts, perhaps?) have not seen any unwanted interlocking. I am against using marbles too, at least (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Bricks in Rice

Hey everyone, Not that I have been building anything, but I have been thinking a bit about the next game. I thought it would be nice to switch the bricks to 2x2's with a tile on top. The smaller bricks would be easier to handle, and the tile would (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I can't e-mail when I'm not at work or at home--spending the weekend in Toronto, away from either of those two places :) I'll bring the 4 pumps to dinner in May, and we'll go from there.   New Steadicam

Many years ago (almost seven years ago, January 1996) I drew up an idea for a Lego Steadicam rig. A few days ago, Derek Raycraft turned up another design for one. But both of these had the problem that they didn't have the articulated arm that makes (...) (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.town)
