Re: 8475 until a little while ago was seemed to be lacking.....

(...) Swiss Chalet in Etobicoke is closing for six months for renovations. For January, we'll be at Mel's downtown. I'm going to mention once again, that I don't want to see anything larger than a shoebox at rtlToronto dinners. It's an inconvenience (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Things I should never do....

(...) I also blew apart a Commodore 1084SP2 14" NTSC preview monitor by feeding it bad sync off my edit card. Any ideas? I presume flyback circuitry is gone. Calum (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Pipe Racers Demo Videos

Hey folks, John Guerquin came by this afternoon and we went over to the Home Depot, buying some 1.5" PVC pipe and some 45 deg joints. Total cost for 12' of pipe and four joints? $10- tax inclusive. Anyways, we decided to build some ideas for pipe (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Things I should never do....

If you'd like, I can take a look at it. Admittedly, monitor/tv's and I don't get along too well - I bat about 50% repair rate, but I can take a stab at it for you. Just keep in mind that I've got school starting in January and any montor repairs (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 8475 -- motors and steering Oh My

(...) Th - Time signal is High Tl - Time signal is Low Tt - total time ------________ Th Tl <---- Tt --------> Matthias Jetleb P.S.: Th/Tt is defined as the duty cycle, expressed as a percent. Therefor: Th=2ms, Tt=3ms = 66% duty cycle. This is (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 8475 -- motors and steering Oh My

(...) It doesn't matter. DMM's are not good at measuring pulsed signals. (unless you have one of the more expensive true-RMS meters which can calculate the average of a non-sinusoidal waveform. You really need an oscilloscope for this. (...) It will (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Things I should never do....

Even though I was warned by Calum..... Even though all the stuff I have ever read in my electronics magazines says don't bother.... Even against that little voice in my head that said DON'T....... I thought I'd try to repair that monitor flicker. So (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 8475 -- motors and steering Oh My

(...) cool. Thanks Trevyn. now if only I had an O-scope and knew what Th, T1, and Tt meant?? ;) Chris (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 8475 until a little while ago was seemed to be lacking.....

(...) someone (calum) should call Swiss Chalet and ask if they have been inundated with calls asking about "when those lego guys meet?" Chris (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 8475 -- motors and steering Oh My

It is indeed PWM. I got out my oscilliscope and checked it, and here are the results I got: At setting 1 (closest to off): Th: 1ms Tl: 2ms Tt: 3ms 9Vpp At setting 2: Th: 2ms Tl: 1ms Tt: 3ms 9Vpp And at full on, it's just 9v DC. (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
