(...) I'm tremendously glad to see the consensus on this one! I've taken my knife to many a flex tube, usually with nagging doubts as to the purity of that act. (I did say IIRC!... so I didn't RC this time)... well I left myself an escape clause: "if you know they cut it during manufacturing" which they clearly do... they do not MOLD it to all those different lengths, you can see the cut marks.
