Is it wrong to cut up flex tubing?

I'm trying to get the tilt mechanism of my tilting train lower to the ground so I can make the joint between two cars lower to the ground. This will make it easier to connect the two cars with a more useful walk through. First step was to remove the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Friday Dinner and the absence of Dave

So here I am at work in Burlington at 10:55 a.m., looking forward to dinner at Mels. However, by 11:00 a.m. on Friday the 13th (go figure), I was on the road to Windsor, Ontario (3 hours away). It seems that the issues the branch was strugging with (...) (22 years ago, 14-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Needed: A Game for rtlToronto12 and 13 ASAP

I agree wholeheartedly with Derek. The Library would be a good place for the vending machines. I probably wouldn't be able to build a vending machine by November. I am focussed right now on building my fire extinguishing robot. Rob "Derek Raycraft" (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Castors

I'm going to be in Montreal instead of Mel's. Go figure. But here's what I do: I put as much weight over the drive wheels as possible. This improves traction. I use a 2x2 round plate with the curved, smooth bottom, the one used on boats in Town. Or (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Kate coming?

(...) I could probably convince kate to come by. It would only be for a few hours because we will all be heading out to see DOC at the other meeting..... either way Mel's has a fine (grease less) chicken breast salad.... (fyi) -- Chris (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Kate coming?

(...) Yeah, I know. I read that after I posted. Too bad. Regina was looking forward to a night at Swiss Chalet. After I described the greasiness of the food at Mel's, Regina refuses to go there. Can't blame her, really. Matthias Jetleb (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Thanks y’all! But I'll be heading down to Fairview (404) on Friday. It’ll be on my way to the dinner @ Mel’s on the 13th. Here’s hoppin’ that a few will be left… Appreciatively, --==RïçhårÐ==-- Part’s trading @ Mel’s; I'm in need of about 4(four) (...) (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Usually what I try to do is make the vertical axis on which the castor pivots as tall as possible, so the moment on the axle is reduced as much as possible (else it binds).
