Technic MOC: DuckPro Automated Duck Assembly

(First of all, I hope I've set this to the proper newsgroups. I've never "announced" a project I've worked on before. So apologies in advance if I've posted to the wrong area!) I've had this idea for a few years. But I finally got around to building (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.announce, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, FTX) !!

  Re: Pretty much punched

(...) I'm busted! Actually sadly enough "Rawk" basically works under that premise but he doesnt have such a cute bod. (...) Mmmmmmmm nothing beats shocking pink fun fur and robotics. Didn't Sue Johanson feature that last Sunday night? Janey "Red (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Pretty much punched

(...) Sounds good to me. The robots are smaller anyway, so I don't see a big issue with this. Iain (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Pretty much punched

  Re: Pretty much punched

(...) YAY!!!!!!!! Play field is screwed!!! Wow, that's wonderful news. I knew that wishing on that shooting star would help. New suggestion...... we just line up the bots, and give points for beauty! Mmmmmm look at "Realms" all pretty in pink!! Poor (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Pretty much punched

(...) ... (...) Are ther enough tables in the library that we could assemble them into a 8x8 playfield (I believe they were a grey) taping the seams with duct tape, and just place the border frame held together with hinges on top? For a more even (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) I work in a hospital- I asked the same question... It's more about interference with telemetry than anything else, and it's mostly older equipment, but since they can't test *every* cell phone, and hospitals are dealing with high stakes... (...)   Pretty much punched

Yep, the old playfield is pretty much hosed. Given a few weeks and a belt sander, I'll get somehting workable, but for Saturday, not so much. I have a word out for a 9 foot by 9 foot greenhouse shading system material--it's very good at covering (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) You're right, but I basically admitted to that already. I wasn't trying to be a know-it-all but it certainly came out that way. Sorry. However, here's an article I found after my post: (URL) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) Where did you get your number that an average cell phone emits around 0.3 watts? Is that during paging, dormancy or in active call? More importantly, how do you know how sensitive other devices in the hospital are, and they'd be affected by (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) I wasn't trying to speak as an expert on RF radiation. It was more like the average cell phone emits ~.3 Watts which isn't nearly enough affect anything except in very close proximity. I think the hospital ban stems from that fact that the (...) (20 years ago, 23-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) Huh, That's nothing, I don't even own a Cell Phone. So there. Derek (20 years ago, 23-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) Please, since you're an expert on cellphone wattages, tell me what is the radiated power required for "significant interference" for medical equipement. I don't know myself, I've only taken a device through PTCRB/CTIA and FCC Part 15 with SAR (...) (20 years ago, 23-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) That's bunk. Cellphone don't produce anywhere near the wattage necessary to cause any significant interference. I'd throw this one on the same pile as the "cellphones cause gas staion explosions" myth. -Orion (20 years ago, 23-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.

(...) Most hospitals don't like you to use cell phones inside the building as they can cause interference with some of the machines and equipment inside. Trust me, I worked at a hospital over the summer, and the only mobile comms equipment we could (...) (20 years ago, 23-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Cell Phones are OK to use in hospitals.
