I guess this is somewhat at a tangent from teh rest of the thread, but I am very glad personally that the VLC doesn't meet in a bar, or even adjourn to a bar after meetings. As a non-drinker and non-smoker, I hate having to be in bars. Besides, the (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.org)

I am puzzled by the liability problems referenced in this thread. Someone mentioned, as a comparison, the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), and I'd just like to draw that parallel in a little more detail: The SCA holds large events for in (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.org)

I had an idea which might work for some groups (perhaps not NELUG) which would allow a group to have an age limitation in the 18-21 range but still allow younger AFOLs to attend meetings. That is, to set the age limit for *membership*, but to allow (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.org)

FUT lugnet.org (...) Well I don't know about the other "True" LUGs but I don't think being a LUG as opposed to an LTC had anything to do with it.
