Some harddrives think a kilbyte is 2^10, a megabyte is 2^20, and a gigabyte is 10^3 * 2^20. Others think a gigabyte is 2^30. Endless (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
