  Re: Technical help, Please.

You mention Bell - so that means Sympatico. Are you using their Access Manager software, or the thing built into XP (if you are using XP) for rPPPoE? In either case, a better solution is to but a cheap router like this one here (URL) is available (...) (19 years ago, 12-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Technical help, Please.

(...) Thanks Dave, I will try new drivers and see if that makes a difference, if not, maybe a new card is just what I need. Thanks for the advice. (19 years ago, 12-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Technical help, Please.

Hi guys, I am hoping someone can help me with an technical conflict I am experiencing between my XP/highspeed service. (Yes I have read their webpage, the faq, the help section, and called technical "support".) Okay, so here is the problem, often (...)   Re: Recommendations for Media PC OS?

(...) Does anyone have any experience with MoviX ((URL) ((URL) Womp ((URL) sounds like these should run without a hard drive?...that would be pretty convenient. --Bram (19 years ago, 12-Sep-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Recommendations for Media PC OS?

(...) Heh - missed that part. I would still work, and you could easily disable the two TV-related menu items... But there's bound to be something smaller for what you're looking for. (19 years ago, 11-Sep-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) It might be the expected answer, but I'm really really happy with MythTV: (2 URLs) linux would do, and you don't need to know anything about it to set it up - I just followed this guide, word for word: (URL) Dan Boger dan@peeron.com (19 years ago, 11-Sep-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Recommendations for Media PC OS?

It appears that we may be building a media computer for our house soon... Basically, it will play movies (off CDs/DVDs/network) and music. Probably doesn't need to do anything else since the video card is too slow for 3D rendering. What OS/software (...) (19 years ago, 11-Sep-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: firefly

(...) I'm in the same boat - I'm in the middle of watching the series so I'll be prepared for the movie. Aside from all the great characters, writing, etc., you know what I really like about this show? No sound in space! Did you see the (URL) LEGO (...)   firefly

I'm late to the party, but what a freakishly awesome show! Just finished watching the DVD. And they canceled it?!? I guess there was some crappy reality show that was more important. So, what's this about a movie? :) (19 years ago, 10-Sep-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Chirality

You just aren't thinking about the terminology when you do so. :) (...) (19 years ago, 9-Sep-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Have a little time, want to perhaps help Katrina victims out?

There are a LOT of different missing persons databases out there, making it hard to search them all if you're a relative or one of the missing, so someone came up with the idea of consolidating the info.
