It appears that we may be building a media computer for our house soon... Basically, it will play movies (off CDs/DVDs/network) and music. Server is back up, and something like 15-20,000 free form records (the more automated ones are being scraped rather than hand transcribed) have been transcribed already by volunteers, but there's lots more to do yet. (...) I would agree, things like Open Office are probably technically as good or better than the MS originals. There are a LOT of different missing persons databases out there, making it hard to search them all if you're a relative or one of the missing, so someone came up with the idea of consolidating the info. (...) I have only used Outlook express and Pine. With Outlook express you just select the message, then Message / Cancel Message from the menu (don't choose Edit / Delete - that just removes it from your local drive!).
