I also have magnifying mirrors too but 5" and use them to get
Highlights. White Card(board) and Black Cards to adjust too.

Highlights are from two 5"-Mag-mirrors pointing the sun
right in at the gem-domes. Small mirrors can be placed
inside or below the camera to direct light inside a MOC.
Take a look at the Puff fish and you can see the Bright-Line

curving at the front edge. and the other three 1" a bit farther
away sun from the front of ship.
White Cards/posterboard is a must when shooting BLACK-BRICKS!
with out the clean white reflection you will get flat look.
