(...) I really like RPM (and package managers in general). It really gives you a lot of power, and helps keep your system manageable. (...) Ah. Yeah, some of the departments I support do a similar thing. (Largely, we use AFS, but we've got some holdouts....) I've tried to move most of them to making the exported directory be /usr/local/somethingorother instead of just /usr/local. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
