Hey all,
I just discovered that my employer is offering DSL for way cheap for
employees. I'm seriously considering throwing away my stone-age 33.6 and
going for it, but I have a ton of questions no one at work is willing to
answer:
1. Where to find good, techy articles on DSL?
2. How fast is it?
3. With my home computer being outside the firewall, what do I need to do to
become a security expert on Linux?
4. How can I set up my Linux box as an IP gateway between the real world and
the network inside my house (and will DHCP cut it or do I need a static IP /
IP pool)?
Can anyone help me with any of these (esp. questions #1 and #3), or give me
pointers to where I can find answers?

Not sure, haven't read many. :) You could check Cnet, Zdnet, and the like for comparisons between DSL and Cable. (...) Depends on how far you are from the (...) | (...) Years of practice. *grin*. Actually, I've been doing Linux admin stuff for years and I wouldn't call myself an expert. But having a reasonable grasp is certainly obtainable. It just so happens that I just got done putting together some pages (...) (24 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
