Drastically snipped... (...) Is there anyone that finds this as ironic as I do? To run the great anti MS language on the great anti MS computer from within a browser, the browser that works best is the MS browser.   Re: Google aquires dejanews!

(...) Agreed. I've been particularly disappointed in the loss/lack of Usenet archives on Deja. What I miss now is the myDeja function. I hope Google can get that replaced ASAP... Improving upon what Deja had shouldn't be too hard. -Rob. (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Google aquires dejanews!

(...) IMO this will be good in the long run. Over the past 4 years or so I have seen dejanews/deja change change from a respectable resorce to this scary ad infested beast that you have to jump thru hoops to find the message you want. I like Google (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Google aquires dejanews!

(...) Boy, what a surprise this morning!! I'm in the process of setting up a mailandnews.com account so I can read rtl at work (during lunch, of course), Google seems to have shut off most of the Deja newsreading capability. This sucks... -Rob. (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Of course, if you're using Win98, the Paint program will do that (not exactly so in Win95). But, you're probably not using Win98, that's why you asked... BTW, I looked at that IrfanView site; looks like a great program! --Electro-- (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Bitmap to Gif/Jpeg

(...) IrfanView, put out by a fellow in Germany, is what I've taken to using. I know that others here use it, as they're the ones who clued me in to it. As a general image editor and file converter it's mighty nice: (URL) And the price for (...) (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Bitmap to Gif/Jpeg

Hi Does anybody happen to know of a site where I would be able to download a program that converts bitmap images to gifs and/or jpegs? I have searched up and down all to no avail. Thanks. (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: What if Steve Jobs ran The LEGO Company?

(...) Whoops. My dealer (DataVision) called. Scott only needed 3 words: "I want it!" While I was picking it up, I got the sense that if I'd been a few minutes tardy it would have gone to someone else. Installing software......... (24 years ago, 9-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
