Re: Netscape Navigator 4.[67] memory leak under RHL6.1+Gnome?

(...) I kept searching around on the net for more info on memory leaks in the Linux release of NN, and everything (not much) that turned up was either really old or only for Win32 or didn't match what I was seeing. So I figured it *had* to be (...) (25 years ago, 12-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Netscape Navigator 4.[67] memory leak under RHL6.1+Gnome?

(...) Good to see that Netscape is continuing with its tradition of providing the same level of garbage as Microsoft, while getting to be thought of as the picked-on underdog hero with a great product in the little browser war... And before the holy (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Making Communicator 4.5 forget headers ?

(...) Well, I did try: unsubscribe, quit Communicator, relaunch, then resubscribe. Somehow it kept everything. They were still there. I *might* try deleting lugnet.com, but I want to avoid loosing all the read/unread stats from the other groups. I (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Anyone else out there running Netscape Navigator 4.6 or 4.7 under RHL6.1 + Gnome seeing a slow but massive memory leak?   Making Communicator 4.5 forget headers ?

Does anyone know how to get Netscape Communicator 4.5 (Macintosh) to forget/expire/whatever the older headers from a newsgroup (such as lugnet.general) ? lugnet.general is getting close to 15K headers and my Mac (233/PPC) is beginning to really (...) (...) _Learning Perl_ from O'Reilly has a very decent intro to CGI, using Perl, of course. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Hey Tom Stangl!

(...) Hrmmm, I've been busy for a while so I don't remember all the details, but right off the bat, I'd say upgrade to 4.08. Avoid Communicator like the plague (at least I do) or go with IE 5. Works for me. (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  CGI programming

Can someone suggest the name of a good book on CGI programming, starting from the ground up. Note to others: Don't start asking questions at staff meetings about web utilities your group needs :). (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
