Re: Ldlite for OpenGL and Linux (and uppercase filenames)

(...) I disagree. Or should I say DISAGREE?? (see the difference? :-) ) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Anyone here into DVDs?

(...) Oh, I don't think I'm quite up to 100 yet. Maybe 75 or so. But I've only had my player for about 9 months, I think. Never bought a single DVD locally as far as I can remember. (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Anyone here into DVDs?

(...) Keeping it down to $8 on average takes a good amount of work, but you can keep it between $13-$17 with no effort at all online. Here's my good deals site. Updates have been a little slow lately, but are picking up. Easiest way to get at least (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Anyone here into DVDs?

(...) $8 dollars a disc? How? Where? And to think I've already bought 100+ DVD's (I've had a player for at least two or three years now) usually at only slighly below retail at COSTCo. (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Anyone here into DVDs?

(...) At my prices? You mean an average of around $8 per disc? Or do you mean US retail or near-retail sale prices - quite a bit more? :) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Ldlite for OpenGL and Linux (and uppercase filenames)

(...) I doubt that future OS's will be case-sensitive. If anything, I expect future OS's to be case-INsensitive. Most people (esp. non-geeks) don't see that FILE.doc as different from file.DOC, and it is counter-intuitive for the filesystem to use (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: AOL/Time Warner = The end of the internet as we know it!

(...) What will happen when that happens? My prediction: core routers will implement IP-level filters on the entire AOL domain. Hey presto, no more problems. And yes, I _know_ there are enough people who can and will do something like that if it (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) (URL) these guys a try. I see that they have international shipping, but what is involved, I have no idea, but they have been around for years and do massive amounts of Laser Disc and DVD business. Staggering selection. Bruce (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Anyone here into DVDs?

Yes, I thought there might be... :-) I have just invested in a player (multi-region) and would like to establish a trading relationship with someone in the US so that I can get the discs early and at your prices. Anyone interested in helping me out? (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
