Re: Use of LEGO on album cover... legal or no?

(...) Hmmm. Yeah, "The Thing" is one of my favourites, ever since I first saw it (in about '84). And the DVD is good value, too - has some really good commentary about how they did some of the effects. Pretty fun stuff! ROSCO (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Haven't seen it, but I've heard lots of good things about it. Starman, The Thing, and Big Trouble... are all pretty good (there's that phrase again!), but Village o' the Darned and In the Mouth of I-wish-I-were-HP-Lovecraft were terrible! (...)   Re: Use of LEGO on album cover... legal or no?

(...) Heh! In my original post, it was Joe Carpenter, I couldn't help changing it to John. I didn't know if anyone would catch it... Some of his recent movies have been realy bad, I agree, but "John Carpenter's Vampires" is thoroughly enjoyable, (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Acronyms (Was Re: Lugnet Guide a lot less convenient today)

(...) Not a "real" word, but a word nonetheless, as opposed to a string of distinct letters. AFOL, if pronounced as a word ("I'm an AFOL") rather than spelled out ("I'm an A-F-O-L"), is an acronym by that definition. The convention was to say "WAC" (...) (...) "radar" wasn't a word until the technology was invented. So does that mean it isn't an acronym? This is what Dictionary.com has to say about it: ----- ac·ro·nym (kr-nm) n.
