  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Maybe...I'm not that fluent in POV-ray... --Bram (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Shop at Home up and running?

(...) Several (...) So (...) If you're buying, I'm drinkin'. :-) Scott A (...) (25 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Duh. Of course. Doesn't POV-Ray have some kind of sweep/turn function, so you could take a rectangle (one side of pie slice) and turn it through a specified angle to generate the riser? Steve (25 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: A joke I got a work

(...) Yes, but every time I want to buy toilet paper while in the UK, I keep thinking of Lou Rawls...he's probably not that absorbent either. (Fortunately such comestibles are provided by the residence. Comestibles meaning loo rolls, not Lou Rawls.) (...) (25 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Each riser is a circular segment--the difference of a donut (difference of two cylinders) and a couple rectangles oriented to result in a pie segment. (...) Which is how I did it in POV-Ray :) (...) The handrail was a pain to do in POV-Ray (...) (25 years ago, 16-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Happy Keyboard

I've done that, too, except I just used the 1x1 cylinder. Alan (25 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Happy Keyboard

The keyboard of my laptop computer just begged to be "Legofied" See the end result at (URL) the full progression at (URL) well, Andreas Stabno (URL) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.off-topic.geek) !

Re: original trilogy in stop-motion Lego.

(...) From my past experiences, a bit like the call of the Canadian caribou during the premier thaw of the upper east Yukon Territory. They get a bit aggressive then and make a particularly distinct sound. (25 years ago, 14-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Hallowen costumes.

(...) Well, I'm gonna be Pieter Van DenHoogenban<sp?> for Halloween this year... and my sister's gonna be a hula chick... (25 years ago, 13-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: How many Metroliners is enough?

(...) I wasn't questing to be accurate so much as picky(1), but thanks for the positive spin :) With the presidential debates happening just now, and thus real detail lacking, I momentarily felt the need for more of it in my life. (...) All too (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Hmm. How would a difference operation be useful for a spiral staircase? LDScript would have been useful for doing the risers. The angle is a function of Y, and LDScript has looping. That handrail would have been a pain in DAT-world, no matter (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: A joke I got a work

We get 'em in plastic bags in the UK... not that absorbent really. Steve (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Uh, no. It's strictly POV code. Almost entirely differences and unions of boxes and cylinders. Imagine the pain of doing a spiral staircase without a loop and a difference command...now you know why there's no DAT file :) --Bram (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) My God that is beautiful. That should be in a museum. Are you gonna post the .dat file for that? I think I'll have to kill you if you don't (j/k) P.S. Can I live in that house :) -dead (25 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Thanks for the kind words. I wish I could have it built...but I don't really have a spare couple $100K... If you want to build it, I'll galdly take compensation for the design :) After all, the studio could be turned into a LEGO room...and (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  My second architecture project

It's done! Anyone feel inspired to build it out of LEGO? (URL) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: How many Metroliners is enough?

(...) While I certainly sympathise with your quest for accuracy, I must point out that you yourself could stand to develop some additional meaning here, Tommo... To wit(1): How big of a closet? I've some big ones and some small ones. I like the big (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.fun)
