Last I saw of them was a tape they put out a few years back. (1) It was,
sadly, quite PG. Not a single unutterable word. Quite a change from the
NC-17 of _Big Lizard_, the R of _Beelzebubba_, or even the PG-13 of _Bucky
Fellini_. And while the song titles were clever ("Belafante's Inferno"), the
actual songs were lacking the usual wit and standoffishness of earlier DM
songs. Think Ramones -- it was slightly worse than their comeback album. By
Grapthar's Hammer, it was awful.
But it seems they at least have a web page:

obtrivia: Violent Femmes' debut album currently holds the record for the
longest time in which it went platnum. Not bad for a buncha kids who started
with a xylophone and a street corner...

1. Eureka: _Soul Rotation_, 1992. It seems they've been busy since then.
Hey, they've played in Yugoslavia just before the borders closed! Cool.
They've performed onstage with Faith No More, Iggy Pop, the Cranberries, and
Ben Vaughan.
