I don't understand the last sentence. What do you mean by "template"? Could you
clarify it a little for me?

Who's insecure? I'm comfortable with the shoes I'm wearing.

Only the child will know what can and can't be used as a gun. It's their
imagination. I would prefer that my child build a gun from their imagination
rather than have that image handed to them as a singular molded element by a
company whose goal is to make money in a society where the visual image of a
gun is a near everyday occurance.

If I knew that, I would be a part designer for LEGO now wouldn't I? Since I am
not and LEGO has chosen to sell those themes with single element revolvers,
muskets, and rifles, I am doing the only thing that I can do which is boycott
those sets. Am I making an impact on The LEGO Company? Probably not. At least
I'm standing by what I believe in - that's what's important to me.
It would be a shame if Space went to the single element firearm. That would
remove just that much more imagination from the building. Not only that, but I
would have to boycott my favorite theme.

By the way: You'll notice that there is no "y" at the end of my name.

| Duane, I think you are right about everything you said earlier. I have had fun (Alot of fun in fact) debating this issue with you and I guess we should come to a closing. It's nice to have somebody that actually cares as much as I do about Lego. By (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
