I don't buy Wild West, Adventurers or Pirates specifically due to the • firearms
that are included in those sets. That is a personal choice on my part due • to
my beliefs and I've missed out on some good pieces from those themes. That • was
my choice, and I'll stand by it.

Why not just buy the sets and sell the guns on eBay or Brickbay or
something?

Just wondering,

We already have a society where guns are considered acceptable. I don't want • to
re-enforce LEGO's edorsement of that attitude by buying those products which
include ready-made guns and reward them (LEGO) by filling their pockets from
those sales. It's my own personal boycott.

I will buy a set which has guns made from an assortment of pieces, since that
at least took some imagination to design. I know that as long as there are
guns IRL, kids will create guns from whatever is available (I'm not THAT far
removed from being a kid myself). My point is that I would rather the kids use
their imagination and CREATE that gun to play with than have it ready-made and
put into their hands with no thought what-so-ever.

It is, in my opinion, the point at which there is no concious thought about
guns when guns are the most dangerous.

Well you see Duane, what this conversation originally was pointing out was the
distinguishment between guns and other objects. It would be great to have kids
be able to create their own guns and stuff. I'm just saying that they need a
template to start with. Insecurity Duane. It's about insecurity. How are kids
supposed to know if the toy they're playing with can be used as a gun? Who
knows? It would be nice if Lego guns were made out of more than just a single
element too, but in Wild West and Pirates, how are you going to make a musket
and revolver out of multiple pieces and have a resemblance of a weapon? Tell me
that Duaney.
