Good reply! I was gonna post this, its pretty much what you said...
Well lets not turn this into a big philosophical discussion here, but
SNOT has *many* building benefits, only one of which is hiding studs.
It also lets you create unusual shapes and creations that would
normally be pretty impossible. I couldnt care less whether my studs
are showing, but Id love to add that level of creativity to my Lego-fu.
