Tsk tsk tsk John. You (I think, please correct me if I’m wrong) have told people before to addess the US President by his proper title as opposed to George Dubya so I would expect the same courtesy extended to the Iranin President.

lol And who exactly is this president of “Iranin”;-)

Whoops!

Actually, you have outed my laziness, as I didn’t care to look up how to spell (looking up, now....) Ahmadinejad, if that is even what you are talking about. Are you referring to the fact that I only used his first name?

Strictly speaking you should probably call him President Ahmadinejad if you expect the courtesy to be extended to other leaders. But I was mainly teasing you because I remembered you telling someone else off for it ;)

I really wasn’t even intending to be disrespectful, as say, someone who uses names such as “Dubya”, or “Chimpface”, or “Hitlary” (just saw that one for the first time yesterday; is it any wonder civility in politics has left the building?)

I think any person who puts themselves into a position of power should be able to deal with personal attacks. If they can’t then I would hope they are quickly removed from office as I wouldn’t want someone so sensitive governing me.

Just riffing on a song from one of my favorite movies is all.

But apparently no one is interested in talking about what actions should be taken NOW; only criticizing and second guessing after the fact. Whatever.

JOHN

My thoughts are this: assasinate the entire leadership and upper church hierarchy and then bribe the people with money and jobs. Unfortunately that is illegal under the Geneva Convention (for reasons I’ve never entirely understood) and I doubt yours or any other Western Government is going to do it.

Tim

(...) Refreshingly forthright and brilliantly impractical. Well played, but you're not likely to win any political contests with entries like that! (you'd have my vote though). (19 years ago, 8-Feb-06, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)
