See that's a good start.  You gave us some names, but it's all wrapped
up in the context of the US.  Isn't there any purely Canadian controversy
you could share?

We sort of legalized same sex marriages, we sort of legalized pot smoking, we
sort of... well, we're Canadians, we 'sort of' start many good ideas and just
kinda leave 'em hanging...  But that's part 'n parcel with our nature--always
something getting pre-empted by hockey or Tim Hortons.

For example, is English/French language an issue?

Not for me--Vive le Canada!  Love belonging to a country with two official
languages.  Where I have a problem is people making political 'hay' out of that.

What about immigration?  Do you have any issues with jobs relocating
to India?

Not that I am aware.  Canada's unemployement rate isn't making the news, so it
must be relatively stable.

How about your health care?  When you have a question for
them, does the call get answered by someone on the other side of the
world?

Nope--Health Care is what we're good at in Canada, at least, imho--I've never
had a problem with it anyway.  I do like the idea of 'user fees' being
implemented 'cause I think the system, being 'free' makes hypocondriacs, but
again, imho.

Do all your schools close when you get 3 inches of snow?  That
sort of stuff.

Not so much when I was younger but these days, the threat of snow closes schools

(...) You still have hockey up there? I thought all the Canadian teams were getting bought up and moving south. Someday all your teams will be in Florida or Carolina with a brand new stadium and no fans, just like the one that used to play around (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Yeah, but which local guy got your soldiers into that place, and why? You see, I don't care why you care. I just want to learn a bit more about what goes on in the rest of the world. You live there, so you're in a reasonable position to tell (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
