Yeah, not exactly an even-handed site there -- looks Republican in the extreme.

Classic! Who cares if the article appeared on Barney’s newsletter? If you are going to bother to comment, why not address the specifics in the article?

Although bias should not automatically be assumed, a media source that has demonstrated unrelenting bias (such as Ann Coulter or Michael Moore) then it is not unreasonable to suspect bias in any given piece. That’s not to say that such bias invalidates the piece, but it may have significant impact upon the way the piece is presented, as well as upon what matters are handled.

I would tend to think that this line of argument can be used against many of the sources (both factual and cultural) cited here on a regular basis... NPR, the NYT, Fox, The Economist, The Guardian, DemocraticUnderground etc, all have “unrelenting bias” do they not?

So does Reason for that matter (have a bias of some sort although I argue it’s merely a bias for the truth)...

I noticed Ann Coulter stuff being advertised there, amongst a host of other offensive material. What can I say? The only thing I might want from Ann Coulter has nothing to do with listening to her opinions and might even involve a blindfold -- for me!

Now that is “offensive”.

Keep your mind out of the gutter--I though Richard was predicting his own blindfolded placement before a firing squad.

Richard WANTS to go in front of a firing squad? That doesn’t sound right to me. Surely he means something else but I’m not sure what.

Getting back to the article, I think I have to cut this guy’s ideas off at the knees. The numbers on the economy are cooked for sure.

For sure. Totally. I guess that the reality of Detroit as a living example of failed liberal policies is too painful for the left to admit.

Correct! It’s much better to point to the failed US tax policy as a failure of Dubya’s Neo-Conservative policies.

Is US tax policy failed? It’s broken, yes, way too complex, but some argue that our current expansion might be in some way due at least in part to lessening of business taxes and taxes on investments... I guess I’m not sure what you’re driving at. Dave!

(...) Yes, of course they do. And that's not always a bad thing except when it gets kinda rabidly slanted a particular way. I try to post stuff that is at least semi-objective from a huge variety of sources. Sure, some of it is just (...) (21 years ago, 30-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)
