Amen.  It just raises my ire when someone is forced into some action because
some First Amendment Nazis threaten court action to get it.
I'm afraid I have to disagree with both of you. Take hate crimes. I do think
they should be discriminated against. You fry someone for a string of 1st
degree murders? OK, so do something worse for a string of dead Jews.

Whoa whoa whoa.  I was talking about expression, not homicide.  My right to
express myself extends as far as it doesn't impede on any of your rights.
But, contrary to popular belief, no one has a right to be mentioned in the
news, to send e-mail, to put up billboards on private property, to grafitti
my living room, etc.

But I'm glad you mentioned felony crimes.  It's my contention that felony
crimes are justified in certain rare situations.  For example, I should be
able to knock someone down who would otherwise threaten my safety.  The
mother of an unborn child who is the victim of incestual rape should be able
choose to abort the baby.  These are situations where the victim of a
(relatively) immediate crime needs to react.

This doesn't by any means justify violent genocide.  If you can find a way
where it might, tell me about it so I can change my point of view.

Cheers,
- jsproat

He stands...like some sort of...PAGAN GOD or DEPOSED TYRANT.  Staring out
over the city he's sworn to...to stare out over...  And it's evident...just
by looking at him...that he's got some PRETTY HEAVY THINGS ON HIS MIND.

Please, people, maybe I don't catch this stuff, but paraphrasing and hinting on a subject where some people have no clue, I think you better state, clearly, what you are talking about. Man, it is like trying to dissect what Bill Clinton is lying (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
