And in response to another point made in another post--Carter was the best
president you guys ever had--he had morals and convictions--I much equate him
with Bob Rae up here in Canada--intelligent, eloquent, and wise, but somehow I
don't think our two countries (economy, whathaveyou) were quite ready for their
standards.

Which only goes to prove something: Carter had morals and convictions, but he
was no great shakes as president.  He got voted in by the religious "born again"
faction, and he got voted out by the religious "born again" faction.  I like him
now that he isn't the president, though.

-->Bruce<--

And yet he got all the hostages back whilst sticking to his 'Christian
convictions' and, iirc, not firing one shot or a loss oof a life.

How's Dubya's Christian convictions doing?

I think Carter got a bum rap due to the events of the world--as I said
earlier--I don't think our countries are ready for his ideals.  It is *we* who
have to catch up to Carter.

Anyway, that's my take.
