Athiests rock! They have a way of belittling anyone and anything that
doesn't fit into their worldview!
Quoteth Larry
"
Well that's certainly ONE view of what he's doing, yes. Please forgive me
for snickering out loud when I read the above paragraph
"
(though, to be said, Larry did put in the apology before the snicker)
Quoteth Jon (from above)
"

"
Let's just disregard Jon's post because his view doesn't mesh perfectly well
with my particular superstition. Wait! That's condescending and belittling.
To me anyway, it sounds much like a bunch of immature kids who set the paper
bag full of doggy doo on fire on the porch and ring the bell and take off,
hide, and watch what'll happen--"Oh can't wait to see the look on the owners
face!" <snicker> "Boy will *he* be surprised!" <snicker>
Now if someone could have been polite, and not condescending, and mentioned
to Scott that, hey, not all is as it appears (valiant effort by Larry until
the snicker), well that would have been a much better way of handling it.
Again, the flip side, Scotts post in response to this,
Quoteth Scott:
"
I had no clue what else he had on the rest of his page. I would never have
thought that someone would put something up religeous in nature in a maner
such as I interpreted the Brick Testament on one page and then the kind of
discusting and revolting content on another. I tend to take things at face
value and not look for the bad in things. Hard lesson to learn I supose.
My fault for being so gulable and childlike. This entire thing has turned
out to be a bit of an insult and a let down. I just hope my teacher did not
go to that page. I don't know what Brendan's motives are, I only know that
I looked at it as a way to honor God. I guess next time I see something
that looks like a good relegious venture, I will have to start looking to
tear it down and pick it apart before I can take it for what I would like
for it to be.
"
was a little harsh. Forgivable? Well, he felt as if he was 'burned' but I,
personally, would have written the experience off as 'live and learn'. As a
Christian growing up in this day and age, it should come as second nature to
have a discernment process in place where everything is concerned. Is Scott
a 'fundy'? Mayhaps. We don't know. Making wise-ass comments like Jon's
isn't going to help the situation though, is it?
Dave! perhaps had the best contribution,
Quoteth Dave!
"
That's a reasonable position to take, but I urge you not to limit your
careful analysis simply to new ideas; there's no reason not to subject one's
pre-existing views to that same kind of critical examination.
"
-Build people up, don't tear them down.
-Take the high road, don't get bogged down in the mire where there will be
"weeping and gnashing of teeth".
Anyway, 'nuff said.
