In no way, shape or form is Scott's expression racist. It actually shows to
me that he sees the inherent racism in the system and tries to point it out.
Yes I said inherent racism in the system--one specific example, the, what
you call it--the fudging of voting lines--in Grand Rapids the voting lines
were changed such that the poorer areas of GR were more grouped
together--the poorer areas having a higher percentage of non-whites, and the
'burbs--predominantly 'whiter' more grouped, so that the wealthy taxpayers
would be sending 'their' money to 'their' schools for 'their' kids, whilst
the poorer people, with less money, have less money for schools 'n such.
Money talks, and those that have it, 'buy' what they want, while those that
don't have it, are quite helpless.
One example--not from a paper, or television, or whatever--just knowing lots
of folks who have lived, and some that continue to live in the GR area.
That said, there are many other points of concern which show me that there
is racism and I thank God that folks like Scott, et al. can see, and
actually stand up and point out that racism does exist.
Pointing out racism does not make one a racist.
