Consider also that only your first appeal to a higher court is a matter of
right, all subsequent appeals must be granted certiorari. That means to
reach the Supreme Court you have to have something that the courts are even
willing to hear...every...painful...step...of...the...way. Quite a lot of
political snubbing is possible through such silence. I am 100% positive
that there are certain questions that the courts will not ever hear because
of political reasons.
One could almost call it a conspiracy of silence.
