Point missed. What I just say is this: Human interaction is complex, and it
has been sufficiently proven that complex systems don't react to a single
stimulus with a single, easily predictable response. In other words,
simplistic approaches like the one Larry and you presented on the guns issue
are invalid. I think, they are more motivated more by belief than by reason.
I tried to add some more factors to the reason part of the picture [1], in
order to reflect the complexity of the system better. Even though this
approach probably still is way incomplete, it is almost certainly better
than any monocausal approach like yours. And none of my arguments has
actually been refuted so far ...
Maybe it is a good idea to give an example of "impact". My guess is there
are about the same rate of gas station robberies in the US and in Germany.
But I have not heard of many deaths resulting from those, except in the US.
