There isn't really a side to pick - ruthless totalitarians willing to slay
millions.

Poor analogy. Better to say, Hitler invades, Milosevic invades, Saddam
invades and the U.S. reacts. Despite all justifications, deplorable things
happen, of course. "War is hell".

No. That was not a political deal between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R., nor
does it have anything to do with the other. I just wouldn't list getting to
Hitler's bunker first as any particular superior accomplishment by the
Soviets, that's all.

It was just an observation. I was crediting the Soviets, not diminishing
them. I was not attempting to contradict your statement, just amplify it.
The Soviet people fought with great courage and much sacrifice against the
Germans - and it might be noted that the Polish and Finnish people fought
against the soviets with great courage and sacrifice. I am just trying to
keep things in perspective.

I neither forgot nor said otherwise, but your observation doesn't invalidate
my comments.

Did the U.S. slaughter all Japanese and German prisoners of war? Did the
British?

Then why respond? You have taken just about everything I have said the
wrong way - I'm not quite sure why you are being so defensive.
And it's, "I couldn't care less."
And to amplify on the "Evil Commies", Stalin was just as evil as Hitler.
That's all I meant. No more no less. Whether or not a country is socialist
I don't really care about - ruthless totalitarians I do.
