My carry gun is a Kimber Elite Carry. It is .45 ACP, based on the
Colt Commander style of 1911. It carries 7 rounds in the mag and 1 in
the chamber. It is 1.28 inches in width, has a 4 inch barrel, weighs
28 ounces, a total length of 7.7 inches and is about 5 inches from the
top of the slide to the bottom of the magazine. A standard 1911 is a
little taller and an inch longer.
It is one of the first series of pistols from their custom shop, #1045
of 1200, the closest to it in the current lineup is the Compact CDP.
