  Re: Blue Hopper Car Mania...

This whole subject is a rehash from a debate from a few months ago, but it keeps surfacing... (...) I hope not as well. Larry is as sharp as ever. I love reading both of your responses. It is refreshing to see people of your caliber (both Larry & (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Good for you, good for him. Good for everyone. Down with whining. (...) You shouldn't have, unless you wanted to. I've known about BB for a LONG time. I've never felt the urge to order from them even for some Castle stuff I might have wanted, (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: web surveys

Just be careful with MySQL. It currently supports NO transaction or concurrency control whatever. If you're good and you're careful, that's OK but you need to be aware. There are other solutions out there for about the same per seat cost that do (...) (25 years ago, 9-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) And in many cases this is an almost completely empty gesture meant to stop the obvious scalping (or the non-persistant scalping) and the whining of parents who didn't make it to the store on time to get the coolest new thing their kids must (...)   Re: Blue Hopper Car Mania...

(...) Sorry, I don't demand all this touch-feely crap from the businesses I deal with. I want to call them up, buy whatever they are selling at whatever price they're asking for it, and not be bothered with, "uh, let us check our list to make sure (...) In lugnet.market.shopping, Larry Pieniazek writes: OK - I'm not the same Simon :) but I'll bite on this one.   Re: Blue Hopper Car Mania...

(...) I'd like to think that you'd regard doing business as a bit more than that. There's two sides of it: A. Making a profit, and B. Providing a good service to your customers. Both are important. Selling all your stock no matter who to may be the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.off-topic.debate)
