So far the bricks consist of 1x2, 2x2, 2x4, and a special 2x8 by 2x10 T brick.
Plates are 2x4 and 4x10 with a large bow plate for vehicles.  There are 3 sizes
of contoured slopes in right and left pairs, and a 2x4 rounded slope.  The heart
of the system is in use of the adapter elements.  All the plates and bricks are
drilled partially or fully in the style of lego technic elements.  A set of
adapter pins slot into the holes and have a protruding k'nex knob for attachment
to either standard or micro knex elements.  There are also adapter plates, 4
leaf clover plates with four studs that snap into the center tube of any knex
connector, increasing the width of a knex connector to standard lego brick width
and supplying four studs so that the adapter functions as a brick.  If you apply
the adapter plates to both sides of the connector you would have a 1 and 1/3
tall double male brick.

So far, Knex has followed up the 3 introductory sets with a motorized
double ferris wheel set, where brick appear to be used as riding platforms for
the ferris wheels.  The company's emphasis here is not in competing head to head
with Lego, but making lego elements part of the standard design components of
Knex projects.

(...) Thanks for the info. It all sounds like a nice direction for K'nex. I suppose what I am really hoping for is a K'nex roller coaster, like their old Screamin' Serpent set, that can seat mini-figs. Now that would be awesome. -Mike Petrucelli (18 years ago, 2-Feb-07, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Pretty neat. Too bad we can't see more of the brick. BTW, Sploids let one connect Lego Bricks to Knex too : ) (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
